Role Overview
As a Senior Chartered Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of major construction projects. You’ll be responsible for ensuring value for money, cost control, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for complex projects
- Prepare and manage tender documentation and procurement strategies
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering
- Building surveying and reporting
- Administer contracts and manage variations, claims, and final accounts
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
- Mentor junior surveyors and contribute to team development
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices

Requirements

MRICS Chartered status is essential

Minimum 8 years’ experience in quantity surveying, with a strong track record in senior roles

Proven experience across multiple sectors (e.g., commercial, residential, infrastructure)

Excellent knowledge of JCT, NEC, and other standard forms of contract

Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

Proficiency in appropriate construction consultancy software

Security clearance will be essential, as will a full, clean driving licence and the ability to work freely in a variety of industrial/commercial and construction and external environments. The working week is Monday to Thursday with a half day on Fridays.​
