Premier Ford Showroom

External Upgrades

ERMC were appointed to provide design proposals for an extension of the existing vehicle showroom into the adjacent vacant unit. The proposals provided clear visibility into the building and allowed for a co-ordinated design aesthetic to that of the existing showroom installation. The extended showroom allows for the display of additional sales vehicles.

The scheme was designed to offer the best use of the space available whilst maximising retail frontage to Riverway, this included matching full height glazed window to the principle elevation, with a set of matching fully glazed vehicle access doors to the side elevation.

The external upgrades to the building provide a balanced aesthetic from both within and outside of the site and help to improve the usability and comfort of the building. The addition of glazed windows and doors is in keeping with the existing fenestration of the building as viewed from the highway.

Internal layout

The principle customer entrance to the building was relocated to the entrance serving the vacant unit, with a revised internal layout and reception counter to direct customers appropriately. The existing customer entrance was retained in-situ to provide an alternative point of access for staff and customers.

Where the existing roller shutter access was no longer required, the openings were infilled with a masonry construction, featuring a brickwork wall to match that of the existing adjacent surfaces. This improved building security and offered improved thermal comfort internally.

In order to meet the brief, ERMC completed an iterative design process, offering the best use of the space available whilst maximising retail frontage to Riverway. This included matching full height glazed window to the principle elevation, with a set of matching fully glazed vehicle access doors to the side elevation.

The external upgrades to the building provides a balanced aesthetic from both within and outside of the site and will help to improve the usability and comfort of the building.
