NEW PROJECT
Design and Management Consultant
We have successfully secured the Design and Management Consultant for the East Cowes Marine Hub from the Isle of Wight Council, supported by the Government's Levelling Up Fund.
This project is expected to see the whole south elevation of the structure restored and weatherproofed as part of the council's plans to create more working space and jobs in and around the East Cowes Marine Hub.
Once the windows and side wall are restored, two whole internal floors of the historic building will be accessible again. The next phase of the works will be to refurbish the newly-accessible working spaces inside, which are currently out of use.
Starting in March, the first phase of restoration work is expected to finish later this summer, with the internal refurbishment phase coming soon afterwards.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES!
We've got 2 exciting opportunities in our Architecture department

CHRISTMAS CHARITY
It's the season for giving and at ermc we have been in a festive charitable mood.
This December we took part in the Isle of Wight Foodbank's Reverse Advent Calendar, collecting festive food donations to help struggling local families at Christmas. We also dug out our Christmas jumpers for the Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 10th December. Raising awareness and money to help support underprivileged children transform their lives.
NEW PROJECT
Commercial Frontage Improvement
Design Work and Advice
We have successfully secured the Design and Advice services for the Newport and Ryde Commercial Frontages improvements being sought by the High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ), a partnership between Newport and Carisbrooke Community Council, Isle of Wight Council and Historic England.
This means we will be advising shop owners on the improvements that they can make to return their shop fronts to their original style, in line with the Design Guide that has been published for both high streets.
Information on the HSHAZ can be found on the website here.

DIGITAL LONGSTONE
The longstone as you’ve never seen it before thanks to the power of point cloud.
Watch our short video showcasing how amazing point cloud technology is. This new tech will revolutionise the way we can survey buildings, especially old or unsafe sites that we cannot access directly.
